Donald Moore Presented with 2023 ELIZABETH K. COOKE ADVOCACY MVP AWARD

(Pueblo, CO, March 23, 2023) – On Thursday, March 9, 2023, at the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) 2023 Policy and Issues Forum, Donald Moore, Chief Executive Officer of Pueblo Community Health Center (PCHC) was presented with the 2023 Elizabeth K. Cooke Advocacy MVP Award. “Elizabeth K. Cooke Advocacy MVP Award” was established in honor of the late Elizabeth K. (Betsey) Cooke whose constant effort and unflagging persistence as an advocate for health center advocates to follow.

Community Health Center advocates from around the country descended on Capitol Hill earlier this month to attend the Policy and Issues Forum and educate lawmakers about the value they bring to the U.S. health care system. Attendees included clinicians, pharmacists, consumers, nurses, board members, and CEOs. The grassroots advocates in attendance are the backbone of the Community Health Center Movement.

Donald Moore has been a member of the PCHC team since 1999, serving as Chief Operating Officer until 2009 when he was promoted to CEO. He has been a life-long advocate for Colorado’s most vulnerable populations and has been working in safety-net clinics for nearly 30 years. Moore has created and grown important partnerships within his community and is an advocate for residents in Pueblo County and beyond. Moore is passionate about the importance of advocacy and has gone above and beyond to create lasting relationships with his elected officials.
