Lebya Wins Regional Nightingale Award, Moves on to State Event

(Pueblo, CO, April 8, 2019) -- Pueblo Community Health Center (PCHC) is pleased to announce that after nominating Lynn R. Leyba, RN, MS, CNM, FNP-C, for the regional Nightingale & Luminary Award she was presented with the Luminary Award on March 29, 2019 at the 2019 Southeastern Colorado Regional Nightingale Nurse Recognition Event at CSU-Pueblo. Leyba now is a candidate for the coveted Nightingale Award at the 2019 Nightingale Gala in Denver to be held May 11, 2019. Given since 1985, the Nightingale Award is Colorado’s highest nursing honor.

The Colorado Nurses Foundation presents the Nightingale & Luminary Awards which recognizes nurses who exemplify the spirit of a citizen of the profession through advocacy, innovation, or leadership. Luminary Awards are given at the regional level and Nightingale winners are selected for state-level recognition.

Leyba is a dedicated family nurse practitioner with 6 years of experience, and 9 years of obstetrics/women’s health/neonatal care experience as a certified nurse midwife. Leyba has 22 years of nursing experience combined with various areas of direct patient care including operating rooms, high-risk hospital units, and outpatient clinics. She is passionate about providing a full range of advanced nursing care to patients and families of all ages from economically and culturally diverse populations. Leyba has been with PCHC since 2002 in various positions, most recently offering primary care at their Grand Avenue Clinic which provides health care for the homeless population.
